Current Production: Lobby & Bathroom renovation
CONSTRUCTION NEWS
The City of Westminster has given us a grant to upgrade our lobby bathrooms. The construction project was started on January 30th, 2012 and is expected to take 2 months. Therefore, it will be necessary for us to be dark during the planned 5th slot show, which is 25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee. This show has been moved to the start of the new 2012-2013 season, in July.
Thank you for your patience in this matter. The above picture shows the lobby cleared of all items to facilitate the construction. The city authorized the removal of the tile floor and the acoustic ceiling panels. Additional pictures will be coming soon.
The Theater History
The theater was founded in 1961 as the Westminster Players with the presentation of Applause. The building was constructed in 1974 and the first show presented on May 31, 1974, was Don't Drink the Water. The building seats 122 persons and is presented in a Thrust Stage format.
